Welcome to the International Social Prescribing Conference at Kyoto University in May 2026. We are delighted to invite you to explore the value and power of social prescribing to improve the health and well-being of individuals and society. Location / Access

Access to Kyoto University

Kyoto University is in northeast part of Kyoto city, Japan. About 30 minutes (7 km) far from Kyoto Station by train or taxi, and 20 - 30 minutes (4 km) far from downtown (Shijyo Kawaramachi: 四条河原町) by bus. From the airport, it takes about 2.5 hours (110 km).

Transportation

Notes:
Getting around in Kyoto using taxis is possible but not recommended, as it may be costly. Generally, from Kyoto station to Kyoto University, taxi fee will be around 3,000 yen. Uber cars are available, but they are the taxi cars. Grab is not available in Japan. There is also a unique taxi app in Japan called “Go”. Uber | Go
Kyoto City Bus is also usually crowded with many tourists. Especially, the direct Kyoto City Bus route from JR Kyoto station to Kyoto Station (206) is very crowded during the day.
